
They came before us
Massimo Vignelli’s classic and intuitive design for the New York underground it certainly wasn’t, but this particular piece of visual communication refers to something very close to us. So close, in fact, that we’re actually sitting right in it.
Irish International is housed in two big beautiful buildings originally home to Dublin’s original iconic trams (back when the Luas was just a twinkle in the internal combustion engine’s eye). The horse-drawn trams were kept in the area where most of us do our daily work, whereas the later, electrified double-decker trams were housed in the other, taller building on our campus.
These old dinosaurs have left us with buckets of headroom and a great space for inspiration. But we like to think that our idea of good design has improved somewhat over the years.
