Irish International win Best Social Media Agency of the Year at the Irish Social Media Awards.
Thursday night’s inaugural Social Media Awards saw Ireland’s marketing elite pack the Mansion House for what was to be an extremely fun and enjoyable evening. The event saw over 85 different agencies, apps, websites and brands all seeking to prove their place as best in class at what they do, across 17 different categories.
Produced by Damien Mulley and hosted by Rick O’Shea, the Social Media Awards are in many ways the graduated successor to the popular Irish Blog Awards, setting out to highlight Ireland’s best examples in all facets of the Social Media landscape.
With much delight and thanks we saw ourselves up on stage not once or twice but three times to collect awards for our Maltesers – Best Integrated Facebook Campaign and BlueMagic.ie – Best Use of Social Media for Sponsorship, as well as the big one, Best Agency for the use of Social Media. Go team!
Once the champagne corks had popped and we’d managed to get Dena down off the stage (again!) we took a moment to think about how and why we had managed such a haul. Ultimately, we believe it’s borne out of our approach, not just to Social Media, but to communications in general – Insight, Excite.
We work hard to really understand our consumers and what’s important to them, before utilising the insights gained to create work that will engage and excite.
At the end of the day, we believe social media is not just about the number of likes, or retweets, or downloads or video views. We believe in being social and taking the time to make real connections, around great content, borne out of real insight, to ultimately create deeper engagements and genuine brand advocates.
It’s an exciting time at Irish International, with our new Creative Technologist starting in June, and our dedicated Communities Manager already settled in and doing great things, and now our Social Media awards haul. We’re all set to lead the charge for brilliant social media activity in Ireland.
