RSA – Educational Driver Training
Sometimes, young people (often young men) aren’t the shiniest tools in the toolbox. That’s fine when it comes to locking themselves out in their underpants or putting toothpaste on the potatoes because the recipe calls for “mint”. But when it comes to getting behind the wheel of a tonne of fast-moving metal, it’s quite a bit more serious.
So much more serious, in fact, that on the 4th April 2011, it became compulsory to complete Educational Driver Training before taking your driving test.
In the ad, we show a young man doing something that nobody would ever consider – gormlessly taking a butter knife to a fusebox. We remind the reader “You’d never try this without training. Driving’s no different”. And when you think of the destruction you can cause in a car, it really isn’t. A victory for common sense. (And for the NNI Ad of the Month competition.)
